Information about Michelle Loyd-Paige, PhD and the services provided by Loyd Paige & Associates.

About me
I am Michelle R. Loyd-Paige and I am the founder and lead principal for Loyd Paige & Associates. I have over 30 years of experience as a higher education educator, administrator, speaker, professional development workshop facilitator, and strategic diversity consultant.
I am passionate about helping organizations and individuals better understand and practice diversity and inclusion. I enjoy mentoring individuals to become more culturally competent.
I have a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in sociology. Both graduate degrees are from Purdue University. I am also a certified Cultural Intelligence (CQ) administrator, a certified Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) administrator, a certified Anti-Racism facilitator, a Certified Wellness Coach, a Certified Mind Body Fitness Coach, and a Certified Life Coach. At first glance you might think it is strange that I have certifications in areas of diversity AND wellness. If you do, you are not alone. But let me assure you that there are some connections between the two areas. For example, one of my favorite workshops to facilitate is on the topic of Overcoming Racial Battle Fatigue. Racial Battle Fatigue is the tiredness — in mind, body, and spirit — that are the results of microaggressions and structured racism. Furthermore, wellness is an important individual experience within organizations striving to be diverse and inclusive.
You may find it interesting that I am also ordained clergy, co-host the Antioch Podcast, am the founder of Preach Sista! inc., and am a vegan.
I believe that diversity matters.

So what is the difference between a coach and a consultant? I’m glad that you asked! Both are in the business of helping people and organizations. However, each differs in “how” and “who” they help. At least, that’s true for Loyd Paige & Associates. Depending on who the client is and what they are seeking, we either operate as a Coach or a Consultant.
As Coaches, we work with individuals and small groups. When coaching, we are explicitly NOT working as counselors or therapists. While we do focus on life harmony and wellness, we do not give advice, diagnose problems, or provide treatment. If you are experiencing trauma or are working towards healing, our coaching services are not for you. As coaches, we work with people who are doing well but are feeling a little stuck. We enjoy helping people make the changes they say the want!
As coaches, we believe the best way to help you change is to create a structured, supportive relationship that helps you take
responsibility for your life and the changes you want to make. We don’t tell you what to do, we help you do what you say you want to do. We listen, provide structure, and accountability. The minimum time commitment for coaching is 90 days.
As Consultants, we work with business (both corporate and non-profit), schools and school systems (K-12, college, seminary), health-care organizations, churches and denominations to help them with their goals of becoming more compositionally diverse and more welcoming places. When working as consultants we tap into our many years of experience to provide advice, develop and facilitate DEI workshops, construct strategic plans, develop professional development programs, and improve supplier diversity initiatives.
As consultants, we provide expert advice, guidance, and solutions specifically focused on matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We help clients solve problems, achieve goals, and improve operations. Here too, we listen, provide structure, and accountability. Consulting services are customized according to the client’s needs.

My friend and colleague, Michelle D. Williams, co-wrote the Diversity Playbook during the pandemic. In the book we share a little of our story and a lot of the wisdom we have gained over the years as diversity educators. The book offers insights within three key areas for organizations:
Section One―Wisdom for Diversity Professionals
Section Two―Guidance for Outliers, Allies, and Co-conspirators
Section Three―Strengthening Diversity throughout Your Organization

The Antioch Podcast is a weekly recorded conversation among a multiracial team of Christian antiracism educators and friends. Biblical antiracism is the starting point for all our conversations, which inevitably include a healthy dose of laughter, thoughtfulness, vulnerability and theology.
Michelle Loyd-Paige is one of the co-hosts for the podcast.
You catch catch episodes on the Antioch Podcast website or wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts. We have been recognized as one of the best podcasts talking about racism with a faith-based lens.
